Controversy

Social and economic disparities

In the year 1995-1997, the subject of the Trilogy Tower criticism is primarily a function of funds and the tower in the midst of social and economic inequalities that still runs. Theo Syafei, former Udayana Regional Commander, said, "It's better that big funds are used for the development of eastern Indonesia." Therefore, the tower began also known as "Tower Gaps". The Jakarta Post newspaper called it a "tower of indifference" (tower of ignorance). Several members of Parliament called the project "lighthouse", the naming of projects at the Bung Karno era considered (especially by supporting New Order) as a project to show off to the outside world, without a clear benefit for the people.

Sudwikatmono as the owner of this project at the time, denied if the tower is called the lighthouse project. The reason is, unlike the government built National Monument, the Trilogy Tower is purely made by the private sector. The minister responded Moerdiono about the irony of the social gap with this project only explain the technical benefits to the world of architecture, construction, and the world of radio and television broadcasting. The plan, the top of the tower is going to be pacak radio and television antennas.

Bethany Church

In the current development period (2006-2011), one raised enough controversy about the Tower of Jakarta is that this tower would be Christian Center supported by Bethany Indonesian Church. The problem, President Commissioner of the developer of this project, PT Prasada Japa Pamudja was Abraham Alex Tanuseputra who served as General Chairman of Indonesia Bethany Church Synod. In addition, the project is often referred to as the Tower of Prayer Jakarta or Jakarta Revival Center.
