Red seal ships (朱 印 船, Shuinsen '?) Was an armed merchant sailing ship that sailed in the Japanese trade to the ports of Southeast Asia, with a red sealed permits issued in the early Tokugawa shogunate, in the first half of the 17th century. Between 1600 and 1635, more than 350 Japanese ships to sail overseas trade under this permit system.
